Guardian Angel

She comforts you
Both day & night,
Always keeping
You in her sight.
Wherever you go,
Whatever you do,
Your guardian angel
Watches over you.
“I Fell in love w.the innocences of words they gave me a guilty pleasure.”

Let Freedom Reign

“I'm just black in America
I'm not afro american
Just a passive american
Making belief I'm better than
What we've been, what we've been
I said
I'm just black in America
I'm not afro american
Just a passive american
Making belief I'm better than
What we've been, what we've been”

This is a part to a dope song. "Let Freedom Reign" by Chrisette Michele featuring Talib Kweli & Black Thought of The Roots. A deep song with a message. One of the few good ones of today. You get that fire that's always expected of Kweli. So conscious of what's going on. Match that with Black Thought's wicked flow & Chrisette's powerful vocals & you've got you a banger. Check it out.

Mother's Love.

There's nothing like the love of a mother. As a kid I loved the quality time that I spent with my mother. We used to do all sorts of fun things. I remember this one rainy day we caught the bus to Santa Monica. We shopped & had lunch on the promenade. I had a blast as we splashed in puddles. I loved how when I was down, she'd always ask "What's wrong with you, Killa?" Countless nights of staying up late when I was sick. How I miss those days. I should be so blessed as to have my own children one day. To be waken up early by tiny little hands attempting to tickle me. Or to stay up late due to fevers & bad dreams. Treat them to ice cream when they are sad. Scold them for doing wrong because I want to see them do right. I want to be able to tell them how much I love them everyday of their lives. That would be a blessing.

Awwwe today is Signing Day! I wanna show love to my nephew Elijhaa Penny, running back for the Norwalk Lancers. Today, he is signing to UNLV!

Movie Review: The Mechanic

Last night, after what seemed like hours to deliberate on, I seen The Mechanic. The new film starring one of London's hotties, Jason Statham. Statham plays Arthur Bishop, an elite assassin - 'mechanic'. He is known for getting his marks & not leaving a mess. That is until his mentor & friend Harry (Donald Sutherland) is murdered. His next mission - vengence. It becomes complicated when Harry's son Steven (Ben Foster) has the same goal & asks Bishop to teach him the trade. Deception unfolds as a deadly partnership is born as a hit man and his impulsive student set out to avenge the death of Harry.

This movie is definitely an action packed thriller and worth every bit of 10.75!!! Not to mention how GORGEOUS Jason Statham is. You may recognize him from Crank, The Transporter, & The Italian Job. I do recommend this movie to all the action movie lovers.

Black History Month

So February 1st marked the first day of "Black History Month". What is Black History Month? It's The Man's way of tellin black people that they still own us. If you believe that your history can be mashed into 28 damn days you are indeed a fool. Our history is American history. & I think that our people should educate themselves about it ALL year! My ancestors didn't give 28 days to this damn country so why are they subjected to 28 days on the calendar?

Blood, sweat, tears, & flesh were put into this country founded on lies & betrayal. I wish a would be so ignorant as to tell me that all of the work and achivements of my people are only worth 28, 29 on a leap year, days out of 365(366). Inventors, Authors, Singers, Poets, Activists, Leaders, Actors/Actresses, Doctors, Engineers, C.E.O.'s, Directors, Musicians, Mechanics, Lawyers. To give 28 days to such greatness is absurd. Educate yourself everyday. Not just the 28 of the month of February.

Love being black...my black is definitely beautiful.

Friendship

It's crazy. The people that I used to confide in I don't dare utter private words to. No love lost just a transfer of. I don't feel the same as I used to. It isn't because of new friendterests. It's because I have opened my eyes on a number of things. It's not bad or anything as such. I just re-evaluated our relationships. I shouldn't have to always initiate contact if you are my "friend" as much I am yours. If I text you "good morning" 6 days out of the week, on the 7th, if I don't that's your que. I don't do things looking for a return but the moment I can't do for you I am replaced by one who can. That's fine by me. Just know I am not going to work overtime to be in a higher position. Especially if you don't work the slightest bit for me. Some one once said "Ppl claim to do stuff out of the kindness of their hearts, yet bring up the good deeds they've done in every disagreement/argument" This may be true. I also think that people are quick to point out your negatives & disreguard your positives. So worried about the bad times that the good are brushed under a rock. That is also fine by me. I refuse to care. If a person isn't able to except their hand in a good friendship slowly going bad then I won't force anyone's hand. If you aren't willing to salvage a friendship with me neither am I. And it isn't because I'm "weak". It's not because I'm "cranky" either. I'm not being a "bitch" I'm simply done showing concern when one doesn't show equal concern. Like I said before, no love lost simply a transfer of. I love me more than I love you & I'll be damned if I stress myself out trying to fix a friendship alone.

A Kiss

A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous.
